The American Security BFII6636 is a large gun safe with exterior dimensions of 65.25" high by 36.00" wide by 26.00" deep. The BFII6636 weighs in at a hefty 1716 pounds (nearly one ton).

AMSEC's BFII gun safe line. The BFII6636 gun rifle safes come with a massively thick, 1/2 inch solid steel door plate with an additional 1/4 inch of hard plate between the lock body and the door. The safe’s outer steel liner is 1/8 inch thick and combined with an inner steel liner of 5/16 of an inch, giving you almost 1/2 inch of total steel protecting the sides of the safe. Gun safe sides a normally a week point, but not with the BFII6636.

The BFII gun safe bodies are 2.25 inches thick. The bolts are TL-15 boltwork with each safe having 10 solid 1 1/2 inch, chrome plated bolts.

The BFII6636 has a high security RSC II level rating (see Safe Burglary Ratings Explained). But quickly, this a 2-man break-in test utilizing all the same tools as a TL-15 test (1/2” punch, 10 lb sledge hammer, 6 ft crowbar, chisels, axes, hole saw, log splitter and more).

The BFII line of rifle safes is one of the most stylish you will find. Basic textured black is readily available, but upgrades to two other textured colors are there for the choosing. Textured colors are fantastic at masking fingerprints so the safe never looks smudged.

The BFII walls and door are lined with AMSECs proprietary Drylight fire resistant material instead of drywall, eliminating gaps and weak points in its fire protection. This test verified that the BFII series gun safes outperform gun safes constructed with drywall. Additionally, there are dual door seals to protect its content from fire and smoke.
