The Hollon BHS are assembled in the USA. The 10-gauge body is up to 30% thicker than competing brands. The Hollon BHS-45E Black Hawk safe door features a ¼ inch steel plate surrounding the lock on the interior, and also has a drill & ballistic resistant hard plate between the lock and exterior to protect the lock during drilling attempts.

The only practical way through is by melting it. If a thief were to get through it, however, the Black Hawk BHS-45E gun safe has dual re-lock system that works even if there is no lock remaining on the safe. The door is 5 inches thick overall, creating a barrier that can withstand crow bar and pry bar attacks.

On the interior wall of the door is a heavy-duty canvas pocketed organizer that can be customized to the user’s needs to get the most storage from the space.  

The hinges on the Hollon BHS rifle safe line are Hollon's own vault-style, designed to outlast industry standard hinges by decades. By having these hinges welded on the outside body, Hollon Safe is able to fill the void with fire-resistant material, which other manufacturers can't do. It also allows the door to be opened a full 180 degrees, and even allows the door to be removed if needed.

The boltwork on the Black Hawk BHS-45E gun safe features U-channel construction, and 16 1.5 inch solid steel chrome plated bolts that are both thicker and longer than industry standards for a high security safe for guns. The bolts are placed on all 4 sides of the Hollon BHS-45 ensuring the door stays on even if the bolts are removed for maximum defense.

The standard lock for the Hollon BHS45E rifle safe is a Sargent and Greenleaf EMP Rated Spartan lock, which is a military grade UL listed Type 1 electronic lock,  made to withstand 1000 newtons of bolt end pressure to thwart side punch attacks. It features a red led light to illuminate the lock if the room is dark. The light is turned on by pressing a raised button on the lock face that is easy to feel. This lock is in a black chrome finish, to match the 5 spoke handle design and color for a luxury appearance to the exterior face.  If your prefer, a Sargent and Greenleaf Group 2 grade spy-proof dial lock can be selected at no extra cost (BHS-45C).

Both the 10-gauge body and door of the Hollon Black Hawk BHS-45E safe are filled with multiple layers of fireboard and with each layer caulked, sealed, and filled with fire resistant caulking. The intumescent door seal expands in the heat of a fire 8 times its original size to help seal out smoke, fire, and water. With this fireboard, The Hollon Black Hawk has a 90-minute fire rating at 1400F degrees, which beats other comparable brands by up to 50%.

Inside the safe body of the Hollon BHS-45 rifle safe is a luxury multi-flex, plush, re-configurable gun shelf system that allows the safe to be used for all long guns, all-shelf storage (with partitions on lower shelves), or anything in between. The interior is wrapped on all sides and with a pillow trim design that cradles your guns and eliminates potential scratches.

An all-shelf configuration (that eliminates the lower-shelf partitions) is also an option if the safe isn't going to be used for gun storage. The full shelves used in either set up are steel reinforced and can hold up to 50 lbs each.

The interior comes standard with an LED 'Vista Light' lighting system that is motion activated. It can be either battery operated, or plugged into an interior electrical outlet featuring multiple 120v plugs and 2 USB ports to keep your devices charged and at the ready.

Every Black Hawk BHS-45 gun safe comes with 4 bolt-down holes for further securing the safe.
